ELOHIM ECLIPSE

“It’s like magic, a kick to the head / moonlight shining, under my bed” - the opening line of ELOHIM’s surprise release seems to hint towards the total solar eclipse that happened in the US on Monday (August 12th). As a result of that experience, the Los Angeles artist woke up unable to stop humming the gorgeous melody for ‘Eclipse’, and so “on a whim mixed it bounced it and decided to share it with you,” as ELOHIM explained over SoundCloud. The fact thatELOHIM can impulsively finish and put a song out there is really a testament to her talent as a producer. It’s arguably a lighter, airier affair than her self-titled EP, with sugary pop vocals, wolf-esque howls, a club classic piano refrain and a beat that ramps up at all the right moments. ‘Eclipse’ is a very liberating song, embracing all of life’s possibilities with hands-in-the-air hooks. -HT
